FAQ

Alumina ceramic valve plates have critical applications in blood dialysis delivery systems for medical equipment.  Their performance characteristics and advantages are as follows:

Ⅰ. Core Performance Advantages

1. Corrosion Resistance: Alumina ceramics are chemically stable and resistant to the acidic and alkaline components, disinfectants, and biological enzymes in hemodialysis fluid. The corrosion rate is only 1/100th of that of metal materials. For example, they maintain surface smoothness even after long-term use in chlorine-containing disinfectant environments, preventing sealing failure due to corrosion.

2. Precision Fluid Control: After ultra-precision machining, the roughness of the inner wall of the flow channel can be controlled to below Ra0.1μm.  Combined with micron-level sealing accuracy, it can achieve flow rate adjustment at the 0.1 mL/min level, meeting the precise metering requirements of hemodialysis. Its high hardness (Mohs hardness 9) ensures dimensional stability of the valve plate during frequent opening and closing operations.

3. Biocompatibility and Safety: 99% high-purity alumina ceramic meets the ISO 10993 biosafety standard, with a hemolysis rate of less than 0.5%.  It does not release harmful substances when in contact with blood, making it suitable for long-term implantable applications. In devices such as intravenous infusion pumps, it can prevent immune rejection reactions.

Ⅱ.Typical Application Scenarios

1. Hemodialysis machines: Used in dialysis fluid flow control valves, resistant to 121℃ high-pressure steam sterilization, with a service life more than 10 times longer than plastic valves.

2. In vitro diagnostic equipment: Used as a sealing component in reagent dispensing systems, ensuring accurate and contamination-free liquid transfer.

3. Microfluidic chips: Integrated into organ-on-a-chip fluid driving modules, promoting cell adhesion through surface hydroxylation treatment.
