FAQ

I. Zirconia Ceramic Crucible Product Introduction

Zirconia ceramic crucibles are refractory containers made from zirconia (ZrO₂) material, designed for high-temperature applications. Their main characteristics include:

1. High-temperature resistance: Can withstand temperatures up to 2200℃, suitable for extreme high-temperature environments.

2. Chemical inertness: Highly resistant to corrosive chemicals such as acids and bases, and will not react with molten materials.

3. Thermal shock resistance: Can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking; tested to withstand 50 cycles from 1000℃ to cold water.

4. High purity: ZrO₂ purity >99.5%, ensuring no contamination of processed materials.

5. Mechanical strength: Mohs hardness of 8.5 (close to sapphire), fracture toughness of 1-35 MPa·m¹/².

II. Application Fields

Zirconia ceramic crucibles are widely used in several industries:

1. Metallurgy: Used for melting high-melting-point metals such as tungsten and molybdenum, operating in vacuum or specific atmospheric environments.

2. Laboratory analysis: Used as high-temperature heating containers for samples in applications such as ore composition analysis and soil element determination.

3. Glass manufacturing: Used for melting special glass formulations to produce high-purity glass with excellent optical properties.

4. Precious metal refining: Used for melting and purifying platinum group metals and their alloys, maintaining a melt purity of over 99.9%.

III. Precautions for Use

To ensure safety and extend service life, please note the following during use:

1. Pre-treatment of new crucibles:

Preheat for 4-5 hours before use.

Slowly increase the temperature from 0℃ to 200℃ over 4 hours (for oil furnaces).

Slowly increase the temperature from 200℃ to 300℃ over 4 hours (for electric furnaces).

2. Operating procedures:

Avoid collision with objects.

After shutting down the furnace, maintain the residual heat inside the furnace to prevent moisture absorption.

When the electric furnace is shut down, it is recommended to maintain a constant temperature of around 600℃.
