FAQ

Alumina ceramics, with their high melting point and excellent corrosion resistance, demonstrate broad application value in industrial fields. The following is a detailed analysis of its key characteristics and applications:

Ⅰ. Core Properties

1. High Melting Point and High Temperature Resistance: Alumina (Al₂O₃) has a melting point of up to 2072℃, and its sintering temperature can reach 1650-1990℃, allowing it to maintain structural stability even in extreme high-temperature environments. Its low thermal expansion coefficient (7-8×10⁻⁶/℃), similar to that of metals, effectively reduces the risk of cracks caused by thermal stress.

2. Corrosion Resistance: Alumina ceramics exhibit excellent corrosion resistance to strong acids, strong bases, and molten metals, making them suitable for corrosive environments such as chemical reactors and pipelines. Its high-purity (over 99%) version shows even more outstanding chemical stability at high temperatures.

3. Mechanical and Electrical Properties:

● Hardness: Rockwell hardness reaches 80-90 (HRA), second only to diamond, and its wear resistance far exceeds that of steel.

● Strength: Compressive strength is 2000-2160 MPa, and flexural strength is 280-310 MPa.

● Insulation: Excellent electrical insulation properties make it an ideal material for electronic substrates.

Ⅱ.Application Fields

1. High-Temperature Industries:

● Metallurgy: Used in high-temperature crucibles and refractory furnace tubes, resisting erosion from molten metals.

● Aerospace: Used as thermal protection materials and engine components, withstanding the high temperatures generated by high-speed flight.

2. Electronics and Machinery:

● Electronic Devices: Integrated circuit substrates, high-frequency insulating materials.

● Wear-Resistant Components: Cutting tools, bearings, seals, etc., extending equipment lifespan.

3. Chemical and Medical Industries:

● Chemical Equipment: Corrosion-resistant pipes and valves.

● Medical Implants: Artificial joints, dental implants, possessing both biocompatibility and wear resistance.
